Privacy, in plain words

Short version: the app has no account and your study history never leaves your phone. On this website an account is optional, and it keeps only what it needs.

The app

• There is no account and no login. We never ask for your name, email or phone number.
• Your answers, scores, bookmarks and streak are stored on your iPhone only. Deleting the app deletes them.
• The app does not send your study data to us or to anyone else, and it contains no advertising.
• Purchases are handled by Apple. We receive no payment details. Apple tells the app whether Pro is unlocked.
• If you choose to rate the app, that goes through Apple's own prompt.

This website

• The free practice needs no sign-up, and the site sets no tracking or advertising cookies.
• Without an account, the practice runs in your browser and your progress stays in your browser's own storage on that device. It is not sent to us.
• Our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) to run and protect the service.

NSW Learner Pro on the web

• You need an account only to save your progress across devices or to buy Pro on the web. It is the email address you sign up with, and for Pro, the address you paid with.
• The account stores your email address, a salted hash of your password (never the password itself), when it was created and last signed in, and your study progress: answers, scores, bookmarks and mock exam results. It is kept by Cloudflare, our host.
• If you buy Pro, we keep a record of the purchase: the amount, the date and Stripe's reference for it.
• Payment is a one-time purchase through Stripe, our payment provider. Stripe holds your payment details. We never see or store your card number, and Stripe's own privacy policy covers what it collects.
• Apple is not involved in a purchase on this website and receives nothing from it.
• Cookies: one session cookie, nswl_session, set only when you sign up or sign in. It keeps you signed in for up to 30 days and is cleared when you sign out. It is not used for tracking or advertising.
• To slow down password guessing, we keep short-lived counts of sign-in attempts against a scrambled form of your IP address. The IP address itself is not stored.
• To close your account and delete what it stores, or to ask for a refund within 14 days of purchase, email [email protected] from the address on the account.
