Warning sign · Animals and people
Cattle or other stock may be on the road or wander onto it.
What it means
A side on cow standing alone on the yellow diamond points to open country where stock can roam onto the road. Fences may be missing, there may be cattle grids, or the land beside the road may be a travelling stock route. Cattle are big, dark and hard to see at night, and hitting one at speed can be fatal for the people in the car.
Reduce speed and watch the verges for animals grazing close in.
At night, drive slowly enough to stop within the reach of your headlights.
Expect animals to stop or turn without warning.
Right. Not quite. The answer is B.
Expect stock on the road, slow down and pass any animals gently.
