What it means

What does the clearway sign mean in NSW?

CLEARWAY is printed across the top of our tall white plate, with a thick red C, open on its right side, in the middle and the hours 6-10 AM MON-FRI below. During those times the kerb lane is kept moving, so no one may pull up there, not for a second. A broken yellow line along the kerb also marks a clearway. Outside the hours shown, normal parking signs take over.

What to do

  1. 1

Check the clock and the day against the times on the plate.

  2. 2

During the hours, drive on and drop passengers in a side street.

  3. 3

Look for the broken yellow kerb line that marks the clearway stretch.
