Regulatory sign · Parking and stopping
Stop for 2 minutes at most to drop off or pick up, staying within 3 metres of the car.
What it means
The drawing shows a black P inside a red ring, crossed by a red stroke. It sounds strict, but it is the softer of the two red kerbside signs. Where it applies you may pull up for two minutes at most to let someone out, pick them up, or load and unload things, as long as you stay within 3 metres of your car. Leaving the car to run an errand counts as parking, and that is what it bans.
Keep any stop short: two minutes is the maximum.
Stay within 3 metres of the vehicle the whole time.
Read the times on the plate, since many no parking zones apply only at set hours.
