Warning sign · Curves and hills
A very tight bend to the right is ahead, so slow down early and keep left.
What it means
A thick black arrow climbs the yellow diamond, loops over to the right and comes back down, ending in an arrowhead pointing at the bottom of the sign. It warns of a hairpin, a bend so sharp the road doubles back on itself, often on steep hill roads. You need to be slow before you reach it, and stay on your own side the whole way round.
Brake well before the bend while the car is straight.
Keep to the left side all the way through the turn.
Look well ahead through the turn for oncoming traffic.
