Regulatory sign · Turns and direction
You must not make a U-turn where this sign applies.
What it means
A black arrow loops up and back down like an upside down U, inside a red ring with a red stroke across it. The stroke cancels the move, so turning your car around to head back the way you came is banned at that spot. It often appears at busy intersections, near medians and on stretches where turning around would block traffic or leave you exposed to oncoming drivers.
Keep going and find a street, roundabout or block you can loop around.
Remember U-turns at traffic lights are banned unless a sign allows them.
Where a U-turn is allowed, give way to every vehicle and pedestrian first.
