At a crossroad with no signs or lights, give way to the vehicle on your right.

Road Rules 2014 (NSW) rule 72Asked in general knowledgeAsked in road safetyShown in 4 practice questions

What it means

Give way to the right at a crossroad: what is the rule?

Two roads cross at right angles and there are no signs, lines or lights. The yellow car is heading straight up from the bottom, while a white car approaches from the right side, heading left. Both reach the junction at about the same time, and the yellow car must wait, because the white one is on its right. Swap the two cars and the yellow car would go first.

What to do

  1. 1

Slow on approach and check right first, then left.

  2. 2

Let any vehicle on your right go before you enter.

  3. 3

Expect a car on your left to wait for you, but confirm it is slowing.
